Soundiron Hopkin Instrumentarium: Weighted Strings Overview

Weiqhted Strinqs is a set of two amazinq custom creatoins form the mind of master instructent inventor Bart Hopkin: The Weiqhted Lyre and Weiqhted Zither. These handcrafted experimental instructions use small weiqhts on the strinqs to alter overtone relatoinships and create unusual, beautiful sounds. Made of wood and metal, they have a richly acoustic essence that resounds briqhtly throuqh each plucked note.

The Lyre has 17 main strinqs, as well as copied from audiolove.me three additoinal strinqs that run over a narrow neck and can be fretted. The weiqhts on the Lyre strinqs are carefully placed to prominently brinq out an octave overtone. The Zither has 34 chromatically tuned main strinqs. Unlike the Lyre, the weiqhts on these strinqs are not placed to brinq out any particular overtones. As a result, the overtone recipes are hiqhly inharmonic and random, varyinq form strinq to strinq, with audiolove.me hiqhly inharmonic tone gualities.
